Excellent Bedroom TV – Smart Shopper – Billerica, MA
Puchased this in December 07 to replace a 20″ Panasonic tube TV (which still works great). I also purchased a Panasonic VCR/DVD Recorder. The two work excellent together through something called EZSYNC. It basically combines the two units into one logical unit, with one remote control. The quality is excellent, especially with non HD channels. It appears to “upvert” the standard analog pictures to at least 480P (DVD quality). It’s hard at this point comment on one component (the TV), but I will say the tuner is excellent, as well as the picture and sound. I could not ask for anything better except for 1080i, but for this size, it would be difficult to notice the difference, and even then, there would be no difference unless you were watching BlueRay.

I bought this set in Oct 2007..We had been living with a 19″ color set in the living room for many years, and it was time!
I had to choose a set that would fit in our small living room, yet give
good quality color and sound.
It is now June 2008, and this set is wonderful! If you have a living room that is 12×17 or smaller, this is great! . The controls are good, however, if you use playstation, or need to connect video, not too convenient..On the side… I love Panasonic..The sound is great, the picture is great.I am still very happy with this set. I can now see this set without my glasses! (well except for letters)
Highly recommended for a great view and sound! Sound is very very important to me…I have extremely sensitive hearing. Panasonic is the best in this category.

New to HDTVs – E. Kanner –
I’m new to this HDTV thing, so I was expecting a super crisp, clear image. I’m using a DVD player which is connected using either s-video or component. It seems to me the image could be crisper. Not sure if this is a failure of the TV or the DVD.
Also, I don’t enjoy watching movies that are stretched out. We change the aspect ratio each time we watch a movie to see what works best. We may need an HDTV DVD player… not sure if that will allow us to use the full resolution it’s capable of.

This tv with the built in dvd player has a great picture. The only thing is the controls located on the tv are on the top and aren’t easy to see which would only be a problem if it’s wall mounted. Of course the remote solves that problem so be sure not to lose it!

LONG DELAYS and REMOTE SUX – Michael Moon – Fairfax, VA
LONG DELAYS BETW/ CHANNELS:
- 2-SECOND DELAY when pressing channel up/down.
- 4-SECOND DELAY when entering the channel#. Not sure if this is b/c the remote doesn’t have an enter button.

REMOTE SUX:
- lacks ENTER button
- lacks a LAST CHANNEL/RETURN button
- sellers should start posting a pic of the remote also!

I thought I could live with the DELAYS, but it was intolerable after a while. I ended up buying a refurb’d Vizio for my room and moved this one down to the kitchen, which was ok since I mounted it to the wall and can watch DVD’s there now without any clutter of adding a dvd player.

This TV is sleek, cute, excellent picture but not a TV to put in the family room. If you don’t have a HD box, you’ll suffer even more, i’m a person that does not care too much for the clear crisp picture but also I have sattelite which manages to give it a decent look. Overall this TV was purchased for my bedroom so it really does not matter to me if I can see a piece of sweat coming off of the forhead of an individual.

Picture is decent but best to have sattelite as cable will not give you a proper picture

Cons

Channels takes too long to change if using cable
Picture distortion can be annoying at times, widescreen is the only time you really get a good view of what is on the screen
Sometimes if movement is rapid on the screen such as running or fighting scenes, the picture can become pixelling at some point and the picture becomes distorted

Otherwise I am pleased with this TV as it was only purchased to put in my bedroom

I have my Xbox 360 connected to this Tv, and it’s just awsome. My 360s component cables can do up to 1080i! Witch is good for the proce tag. My only complaint is the amount of inputs. Only one component, one hdmi, and two composite with s-video… A couple more component couldn’t hert…

We decided to get a flat panel TV to save space with HD capabilities because the technology is going that way, but the bulk of our viewing is still just regular digital cable. Maybe I’m just not used to how flat panel TVs look, but the images look dull and blurry to me. People have strange coloration to their skin and movement is somewhat choppy.

Consumer Reports rates this TV’s “standard definition” television viewing as only fair. I wish we’d checked the review ahead of time. We’re returning it and getting the Toshiba 26HL66.

This breathtaking 26-inch TV is equipped with features like crazy LCD technology, brightness control and image quality. The large screen makes movie viewing and gaming experience even more enjoyable. All my friends are online all the time and television can also be connected to the home entertainment system easily. Bought new TV, received broken and probably used TV – Amazon Customer –
I ordered the Panasonic TC-L37X1 as a new TV sold from Amazon. It was shipped by a freight carrier (instead of UPS or FedEx) with free shipping and the box had a hole in it when the TV arrived. When I turned the TV on, the screen looked the same as a car window after a big rock has hit it. The TV was obviously damaged before or during shipping. Additionally, on the top third of the screen (which wasn’t as damaged) you could still read TV channel and menu item listings and all the listings were in Spanish. That, along with pretty limited and broken styro packaging in the box, indicates to me that the TV was previously owned & used since the language selection was already done. I probably won’t order a TV from Amazon again. These are two big issues to have in a single purchase and it’s not worth the hassle to me.
